MAC (MANAGER)Mac has been a regular at The Pines since before he finished school. Mac was among the first ever ACIA-qualified multipitch guides and worked at The Mill climbing gym in its heyday. A qualified geologist, Mac has spent most of his life around rocks in one form or another. His other passions are paddling, bouldering and birdwatching. |

ANDYAndy comes to The Wilderness Shop with years of ski experience. Skiing, and ski gear, is his real passion and forte. During the winter months, you’ll find him up in the snow weekends - at Hotham, Buller, Stirling... or even on Lake Mountain’s black runs. Before he came to The Wilderness Shop, Andy managed another outdoor retail store and as such, has fantastic product knowledge. He’s a jolly fellow - say hi when you see him in store! |

EMMAEmma has had a strong passion for outdoor adventure sports since she first stepped foot on snow at age 2. She has enjoyed the rewards of cross country and alpine skiing, climbing and hiking which have taken her to many remote and exciting destinations around the world. Some of the most memorable adventures range from skiing through blizzards in the back bowls of Japan to scrambling up some of the most secluded alpine regions in the Lofoten Islands, Norway. Emma has gained her most valuable knowledge from her time spent in National Parks across Australia testing a range of skiing, climbing, and hiking gear in all elements. |

GLENNGlenn was part of the New Wave of climbers who, back in the early 80’s, swapped comfortable spring mattresses (or friend’s couches), for a life ‘living in the dirt’ at Arapiles. Dangling from ropes for hours on end, Glenn’s photographs defined the birth of modern climbing in Australia. Apart from his skill behind the camera, and encyclopaedic knowlege of climbing equipment, Glenn is one the the wittiest people you are ever likely to meet. |

ROBStarting young with weekend excursions, Rob has built most of his life around expeditions and plans to keep it that way. From multi-day hikes to hastily planned climbing expeditions and bike packing, the goal is always to one-up the last trip. Studying science at Uni, he has a special interest in botany and especially enjoys orchid hunting. While he’s yet to decide on a favourite outdoor discipline, he’s obsessive about all his gear and loves to see new and unusual pieces of kit coming through the store. |

SAMHaving studied outdoor leadership and guiding, Sam in no stranger to the outdoor life. Working from the shorelines to the high plains of Victoria, helping to bring a love and respect of the outdoors to a new generation has been a highlight of his work. He also has a love of gear in all its intricacies and will pour over specifications, applications, designs and reviews. He is always eager to share his knowledge! |
